The strike at McGill University (in Montreal) is affecting cancer patients

(Pitched on Oct. 5, 2011)

The strike at McGill is affecting the treatment of cancer at Royal Victoria Hospital. In particular, I heard yesterday that one breast cancer patient is still waiting for her lymph node biopsy results because the lab workers at the McGill University Health Centre are on strike. Her doctor told her that it will take two weeks longer than the usual time to see if her cancer has spread beyond her breasts. She is still waiting for her biopsy results.
