(Pitched in February of 2014)
The Saint-Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston outsourced its nighttime ultrasound readings to India. If a patient needs an ultrasound during the daytime, an American doctor interprets it. But if the ultrasound is done at night, it is analyzed by a doctor in India. The hospital used to outsource this job to Australia, but they switched over to India about a year ago to save money.
(Tried pitching this to some newspapers in Boston, but no one was interested.)
